This is a match made in heaven.
“I love it so much that not a day goes by that I don’t shake up a Tao Nutrition Natural Protein with Chilled Coconut Water.”
Why do I love it?
I love how coconut water helps keep me well-hydrated- especially after working-out
It has less sodium than a sports drink. (For those of you who know me, you know I would never ever ever ever buy a conventional sports drink – and coconut water is ideal for me if I am ever stuck out and in need of something to enjoy with my Tao)
1 cup of coconut water contains 600 milligrams of potassium.
It boasts zinc, selenium, iodine, sulfur, manganese, boron, molybdenum, ascorbic acid and B-group vitamins!
Relatively low-calorie (I personally don’t calorie count, but I know this is important to many people)
The Taste! I love it. And mixed with Tao I’m in heaven.
Why do I love Tao?
A whopping 23g protein per serve
Proteins, Superfoods and Essential Greens in every sip!
Perfect for a healthy snack, meal replacer or enjoy after your workout
3 Simply Steps!
1) Simply Fill Your Tao Nutrition Shaker with Coconut Water (Amount to your preference)
2) Add a scoop of Tao Nutrition Natural Protein Powder
(Natural Choc or Organic Vanilla Bean – Both are Amazing)

Well, it’s no secret that we LOVE our healthy smoothies! Not a single day goes by that we don’t have our blender whipping up amazing nutritious goodness. And it’s not just the world’s most delicious smoothies that we blend…. raw treats, dairy free ice-cream, soups and much much more.
We get asked all the time what blender we use and after 10 years of road testing and burning out blender after blender- here is our tried, trusted and highly recommended blender that we love!!!!! – its called an Omniblend.
Why we love it:
SMOOTH – It blends amazingly well- even when its stacked with loads of ice and tough frozen bananas, strawberries etc. Anything you throw at it, it blends.
TOUGH! – You get a Commercial grade blender at a Domestic price (comes with a 3/5yr warranty too!)
RELIABLE – It has never ‘blown up’ on us. Even after using it for soooo long now, and asking it to do so much. (For extra durability, it has a built in sensor which automatically turns off the motor when it detects excess usage which means your blender won’t fail on you under pressure. All you need to do is hit the trip switch and you are off again).
SPARES! – You can buy replacement parts! This makes me so happy- I hate the waste these days when something electronic breaks and the cheapest option is to throw it away… but not with omniblend. You can buy spare parts (and they send these with free shipping). So if you ever need to replace the blades- you can (not that ours are even close to needing a replacement yet)- but you can if you need to. And they are really reasonably priced too.
ENGINE – The engine is a power house! Achieving a blade speed of 38,000 rpm delivered by a rugged 3HP motor. To do this it isn’t quiet, but what good blender is? And if you really want a quiet blender (maybe for the office??) they sell sound proof cases!
TIME! – It’s super-fast AND it has timer settings. So you can set it to blend for a minute while you take care of something else
PRICE TAG! – It’s the best value for money blender I have ever come across.
The JUG! – BPA free jug that can withstand temperatures over 120 degrees Celsius so you can blend soups
DELIVERY – Free shipping anywhere in Australia.
The OmniBlend comparison (from their site) So, if you aren’t looking to spend an exorbitant price, but you still want an unbeatable blender, Omniblend is our tried and tested recommendation. Great News……OmniBlend are offering all Tao Nutrition fans a $5.00 discount off their omniblend purchase! Wow… this dessert is really… Wow.
I recently rolled my ankle
Because of the injury, I have to pull back on my running to allow the healing to take place.
In the mean time I have really been enjoying swimming!
I’m loving my little local pool! Always a lane free for me
Anyway, it was in this very pool the recipe was born. In my head anyway. As soon as I was done l I headed straight home for some creative time in the kitchen.
“The Chocolate Slab”
THE CHOCOLATE (THIS IS THE SLAB PART!):
(I kid you not- These 4 ingredients make chocolate! Real chocolate! AMAZING!!!!)
- Tao Nutrition
- Coconut Oil
- Cacao Powder
- Sweetener of your choice (I used coconut sugar)
Vary the amount depending of the size you require your slab to be and for your personal taste preference (More cacao for a darker chocolate, more sweet for a sweeter choc). Simply taste the choc mix for your ideal creation.
You can vary this to suit you, I used what we had in the cupboard and it was divine!
- Shredded coconut
- Medjool dates
- Chia seeds
- Pumpkins seeds
You could use nuts, different seeds or dried fruit. Actually, this would look really lovely topped with goji berries but I didn’t have any on hand.
(PS- I added frozen blueberries to mine- but this isn’t something that I wouldn’t necessary do again. I would personally limit the amount of different toppings to 5 just for balance).
I know it looks like lots of steps- but it really is so easy!
Place some baking paper in the bottom of a square tray so it comes up the sides. (The base of the tray will be the size of your slab).
Melt your coconut oil in a saucepan.
Reduce the temperature and add in your cacao powder, Tao Nutrition and the sweetness of your choice. Stir until well combined (Which should only take a minute at most). Remove from heat and pour into your tray on top of the baking paper. Place this in the freezer.
Grab your topping ingredients out of your cupboard and chop if needed.
Remove your slab from the freezer, and begin to sprinkle your topping on the slab. The pieces should ‘go into’ the mixture- keep adding ingredients until they start to build up (ie not sink out of view). The more the merrier
Place your slab in the freezer. And after about 30 minutes…. remove the baking paper from the tray, place on a chopping board. Cut into pieces (I did a mix of large and small).
Return to the freezer until you need them.
Note- due to the coconut oil these will melt easily. You will need to keep them in the freezer until you need them. Meaning these are great for an at home dessert, but not great for a picnic.
Enjoy with family and friends. There wont be any left-overs- I promise!
It seems sarah_louise can do no wrong

It happened to me (Michael) a couple of weeks ago…….
As Jess tells the story ‘i had just had a coffee with my sister and said that i wanted to work with a natural protein company but i hadnt found the right one’.
Sure enough, I called her 10mins later
She thought it was her sister playing a joke on her. But I was on the other end of the phone, and it was not joke. We met for a coffee and it took less than 15 seconds to realise that Jessika was a perfect fit for Tao Nutrition and for you -the Tao Community!
“I am a 31 year old mother of 4 children. I have 11 years experience in the Fitness Industry and am qualified in Certificate 3 & 4 Fitness. I have worked for many well known and independent Fitness Centers.

Check out the photos of Jess from her last competition!! This is after having 4 kids!!
When we chatted about this she said ‘i want to show other women that if i can get into this shape after having 4 kids then they can, and i can help you do it too!’
That really stuck with me as her results speak so much louder than the humble words she said that day.
“I love all methods of training and my passion for remoulding the Fitness Industry for a healthier and more Holistic approach motivates me everyday.”
“There are no short cuts to health and fitness and it’s no temporary game.
It’s hard work, early mornings, sweat, pain.
It’s constantly challenging your mind and body and loving yourself enough to do it for YOURSELF!
I have had 4 children and work full time I maintain a healthy body everyday……..because
I am worth it!
So are you!”

“Sometimes, I feel like cake.”
But, everybody knows traditional cake isn’t health promoting….
With traditional cake off the list – “I personally want to avoid the artificial sugar, bloating dairy, unhealthy fats and processed flours”
I needed something different, something better.
I needed something sweet, nourishing and high in protein.
ENTER THE LIFE CHANGING NO BAKE CAKE WITH PROTEIN
This cake is life changing because:
- It takes next to no time to make
- There is minimal washing up
- It tastes….. AMAZING! Oh and it is no bake too! Yay!
“Everyone knows they are 3 amazing reasons (well 4 actually!) to make this cake!”
All the Equipment you need is:
- Food processor
- A bowl to mold your cake
- Baking paper to line your bowl
- Tao Nutrition protein powder (1 scoop, or 2 for a large cake)
- Medjool dates with seeds removed (Amount will vary depending on how big you want your dish to be. Measure the dates by the size of the bowl you are going to use to mold your cake)
- A handful of pumpkin seeks
- Cacao (1 Tao scoop)
- Coconut oil (just a splash)
That’s it? Yep. Wow I know!
- Process the pumpkin seeds until broken into little pieces. Stop the processor and add in a scoop of Tao protein powder and cacao. Turn the processor on and add in one date at a time. Now pour the coconut oil into the mix while the processor is on.
- Stop the processor and check the consistency. The mixture will be at its ideal consistency when it sticks together between your fingers when pinched. (If you need it to be drier, simply add more Tao. If you need more moisture simply add more coconut oil)
- Get out your bowl, and place a sheet of baking paper in it. Tip your mixture into this bowl and press down firmly to the mixture is packed in. Place in the fridge. That’s it!
- When you are ready to serve your cake, simply flip the cake out onto a board, and cut into pieces.
No one will believe you it’s healthy… so its up to you if you tell them or not!
Enjoy! Bianca xx
My best friend was staying with me for a few days with her adorable 3 year old
“I wanted to make something healthy, new and high in healthy natural protein for us to enjoy”
“But… it had to be easy to make…. and delicious to eat”
I was looking for inspiration
And I found it!
This recipe inspiration (and picture) came from the blogger at SixAteTea – I have altered her original recipe to make it high in healthy protein and nut-free too.
This cake involves NO BAKING! And it’s VEGAN DIET FRIENDLY TOO!
The Natural Protein
Chocolate and Seed Cake
1 Cup Pumpkin Seeds
2 Cups Sunflower Seeds
2 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil
10 Pitted Medjool Dates
2 Ripe Avocados
2 Tablespoons of Tao Nutrition Natural Vegan Protein Powder (Choc or Vanilla)
2 Tablespoons of Cacao
1/2 Cup Coconut Milk
Berries (optional to top with)
Line a cake tin or bowl with baking paper
Combine Seeds, Coconut oil and 6 Medjool Dates in a food processor. Remove from processor, and press and pack the mixture into tin. Set in freezer.
Combine Avocado, Tao Nutrition, Cacao, 4 Dates and Coconut Milk in a food processor. Poor over the base and place back in freezer.
After 15 minutes you may want to decorate the top with berries, seeds (optional)
Let it set in freezer for about 2-3 hours and it will be ready to serve.
This cake was seriously so good I didn’t even have time to take a picture before it disappeared!
Thankfully SixAteTea Did!
Thanks again to Thanks SixAteTea for the original recipe inspiration – and the picture too! Really love what you do! xx
